Eidon Retinal Imaging System

At Amazing Eye Care, we use the Eidon widefield TrueColor confocal fundus imaging system, a high-resolution retinal camera, to capture detailed images of the retina. The retina is a thin layer of tissue at the back of the eye that contains light-sensitive cells called photoreceptors. These cells convert light into electrical signals that are processed by the brain to create vision.

The Eidon retinal camera, equipped with a special lens and digital camera, is able to detect early signs of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Timely detection and treatment of these conditions are essential in preventing blindness.

The procedure using the high-resolution retinal camera is painless and quick. You will be seated in a chair and asked to look into a special light while the camera takes multiple pictures of the back of your eye. These images help monitor your eye health over time and identify any changes that may indicate a problem.

If you have any questions about the Eidon widefield TrueColor confocal fundus imaging system, please consult your eye doctor without hesitation.

Advantages of high-resolution retinal imaging include early detection of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. This technology allows for monitoring of eye health, aiding in the early identification of any changes that may indicate a problem or disease progression. High-resolution retinal imaging also enhances the accuracy of diagnosing eye diseases, leading to earlier treatment and better outcomes for patients. Additionally, these images can be used to educate patients about their eye health, empowering them to understand their risk factors and take steps to protect their vision.
